Jotunheimen National Park

Jotunheimen National Park is a beautiful combination of high mountains, glaciers and deep lakes.

More than 200 mountain peaks rising above 2000 m (6560 ft) in Jotunheimen, and the three highest  Galdhøpiggen, Glittertind and Store Skagastølstind.

The most impressing landscape you find is in the western part of the national park in the Luster and Årdal area. If you take the drive to the scenic national tourist route over the Sognefjell Mountains between Luster and Lom, you will discover Store Skagastølstind and many other impressive peaks at close range.

Jotunheimen is one of Norway’s most popular hiking areas, and you will find all kinds of offers for hiking tourists by the local tour operators. If you are the more experienced hiker the Hurrungane range, which includes the Store Skagastølstind peak, is a paradise for mountaineers.

You will find the park located about 300 km from Oslo near the east end of the Sognefjord.
