The Geirangerfjord

The Geiranger Fjord is one of the most dramatic and visited attractions in Norway.

The Geiranger Fjord is called "the jewel in the crown of the Norwegian fjords". The deep blue Geirangerfjord is 20 km long and surrounded by beautiful snow-covered mountain peaks, incredible waterfalls and fertile, beautiful scenery. It is located in the Sunnmøre region of Møre and Romsdal country not so far from Ålesund.

It is recommended to take a cruise sightseeing tour here. Spoil yourself with all kinds of amazing nature experiences from lush green landscapes with snow-covered mountain tops, enjoy the fresh air and some of the world-famous waterfalls like the "The Seven Sisters".

If you have the chance to stop in one of the cosy fjord villages on a cruise or by car, you will never regret it. The small village of Geiranger is located at the end of the fjord where the Geirangelva River empties into it.

Trollstigen - a national tourist route with beautiful views

Discover a fantastic panoramic view of the beautiful Geiranger from Trollstigen, a national tourist route on 106 kilometres. The first Trollstigen road opened in 1936, and it is famous for the many hairpin bends which bring you to beautiful viewpoints like Gudbrandsjuvet, Flydalsjuvet and Ornesvingen.

Many possibilities for an active holiday

The Geirangfjorden has a lot of options for adventure lovers. Try rafting on the Valldøla River in Valldal or what about hiking in the beautiful Tafjord Mountains. You will find many local tour operators offering biking, hiking and kayaking tours.
