Bergen Airport

Norway’s second busiest airport in Bergen serves Hordaland county and the city of Bergen in the southwest of the country.

Bergen Airport connects flights to major cities in Norway and international destinations. Well-known airlines here are Widerøe, Norwegian and SAS.

Bergen international airport is located 20 km from Bergen city. There is one terminal, and the airport bus stops outside the main terminal. Usually, transport time from Bergen to the airport is approx. 25 minutes.

Bergen Airport bus

The best way to get into the centre of Bergen is by the frequent bus service. The bus leaves from Radisson Blu Royal Hotel at Bryggen, via Radisson Blu Hotel Norge and the bus station (platform 17) to the airport and returns (the same route).

Approx. 25 minutes bus ride at off-peak hours. For departure times, inquire about the airlines or at the Tourist Information. Approx. departures are three times per hour, less frequently on weekends. The Bergen Card does NOT include transportation from or to the airport.

Taxis to Bergen

Taxis wait outside the airport. If you travel during the morning or evening peak periods, you will need to allow extra time for sitting in stationary traffic (bus and taxi).

Almost all of the taxi drivers in Bergen speak English. A taxi might be a smart choice if you are going elsewhere than the centre of Bergen. You can ask the driver about Bergen, places to visit, etc.
