Welcome to one of the most beautiful located villages in the world - Flåm.

Flåm is located right at the inner end of a branch of the world's deepest and second-longest fjord, the 204-km-long and 1308-metre-deep Sognefjord.

When you look around from the harbourside in Flåm, you will be amazed by steep mountainsides, surging waterfalls and narrow valleys.

Flåm is an eldorado for adventure lovers. Here it is no problem to find activities for ages, from cultural experiences founded on local traditions to kids-friendly fishing in the mountains or on the fjord.

What about an exciting bike or hiking tour in the beautiful surroundings of the Flåm Valley.

If you are interested in the local history and traditions, it is very recommended to visit the Otternes Farm Village, with 27 different buildings from the 17th century. This cluster of houses is a local historical treasure and living museum with a lovely view of Flåm and the Aurlandsfjord (good weather conditions.

One of the "must do/see" experiences at these latitudes are numerous fjord cruises, including through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Nærøyfjord.

 

 
How to get to Flåm

Whether you come by car, bus, cruise or train, Flåm is easy to reach. During the summer, large cruise ships sail into Sognefjord to Flåm harbour.

You can reach the famous Flåm Railway and station platform quickly, and the famous historical Fretheim Hotel is also nearby.
