Stockholm for Kids

Stockholm is a very child-friendly capital. The city is a popular family destination in connections with the abundance of children attractions and museums with activities and exhibits, especially for children.

Because of the relatively small distances, it is easy to move around in Stockholm area with kids. Public transportation system takes you everywhere, you want to go. Buses are even free if you´re bringing a stroller.


Djurgården

The perfect place to start is definitely the island Djurgården. Here you will find one child attraction after another. Just to mention some, the fairytale world of Junibacken and the amusement park Gröna Lund with plenty of attractions for kids and adults alike. Across the street from Gröna Lund is Skansen – a popular open-air museum, complete with historical buildings, Nordic animals, a children’s zoo and an aquarium.

Why not check Stockholm`s many shopping offers while your children have a perfect break by Kulturhuset or the children library. If you want to check out the shopping malls some of them offer a large children’s department, a family room for nursing and feeding. 

In Stockholm it is no problem to find family restaurants and, and kids are welcome in all cafés and restaurants.

Stockholm is also a very green city in many ways, and if you visit Stockholm during summer, you can go swimming in several places in midtown. On the island of Långholmen you´ll find a small sandy beach perfect for kids.
