Haifoss Waterfall

Haifoss waterfall is said to be the second tallest waterfall in Iceland at 122 metres tall.

But encyclopaedic facts aside, what really make this waterfall stand out is the combination with the similar waterfall called Granni - in an adjacent gorge.

The Icelandic highlands

Moreover, if you get a lucky timing and the sun`s position right, the combination of both waterfalls at their full flow and a bright quarter-arcing rainbow top your visit.

The falls are surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the Icelandic Highlands.

To get to Háifoss waterfall from Reykjavík drive east on ring-road 1, pass Selfoss town and take a left turn on road 30 until you reach Árnes, where you make a right turn on road 32. Just before you reach the power plant Sultartangi turn left on a gravel road, which leads to Háifoss waterfall.
